Anxiety and Stress

Forest

When your body is in a state of stress it undergoes physiological changes designed to allow us to 'fight the threat' or to 'take flight'. This response has ensured man's survival but it is only useful in short bursts and not for long periods. Long term stress and anxiety create problems for the body and mind leading to a poorer quality of life.

My work with you could include:

Education about the physical effects of anxiety and stress and how they may affect you.

Learning deep breathing exercises and relaxation techniques to balance out the high state of arousal.

Use of a cognitive behavioural therapy approach to help you to challenge unhelpful thoughts and eliminate rumination.

Increasing your self esteem through the power of meaningful activity and self-compassion.

A holistic wellness approach including consideration of nutrition, sleep and activity levels.
